Katronic AG is based in the pretty town of Wernigerode in the Harz mountains of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, where the Harz company run has grown in popularity. The event, which focuses on fitness, team spirit and networking, has become a fixture in the annual calendar of local companies. The majority of participating companies now send several teams to the start. This year there were up to 17 teams per company. Since 2020, the number of teams has tripled from 180 to 538.

The circuit in Wernigerode's Bürgerpark was deliberately kept short at 2.2 km to allow runners of different fitness levels to take part. This year we entered a men’s relay team. We were supported by Andreas Tille from the Robert Koch Institute in Wernigerode and our new colleague Laurin Brach. With a total time of 36:19 min, the Katronic four-man relay team came 137^th out of 208.

The weather once again provided perfect running conditions and the organisation of the event left nothing to be desired. Over food and drink, we enjoyed the time together, looked back on our running achievements and looked forward to next year - the 10^th Harzer Firmenlauf in Wernigerode in 2024.
